Michael Mann, a teacher at École Camille J. Lerouge School has received the David Peterkin Award for his excellent service to music education and the band community.

His peers, who are part of the Phi Beta Mu International Bandmasters Fraternity, nominated Mann for this award.

“We at École Camille J. Lerouge School are so incredibly proud of Michael and the work that he does with our school community. Our students are extremely fortunate to have such a passionate musician lead them from Grade 3 into middle school,” said Sinead Armstrong, Principal at École Camille J. Lerouge School. “The dedication that Michael puts into this program helps to create and foster a love of music that carries them through into middle school and beyond. The band program at our school is highly successful because of Michael’s investment in our students.”

“I think Mr. Mann has done wonders for this school. He has helped countless students master their instruments and has shared his passion for music with all of us. Thank you, Mr. Mann, for being part of this school and for sharing your gift,” said Matthew Hansen, student at École Camille J. Lerouge School.
