2019 ELECTION WORRIES

Former Reform Party leader expresses concerns ahead of federal election

CALGARY- The founder of what was the Reform Party of Canada is worried that a pervasive level of alienation could leave the country more divided after the federal election.

Preston Manning told the Canadian Club of Calgary yesterday that there is a lot of anger across Canada.

That includes alienation in parts of Alberta and Saskatchewan fuelled by the downturn in the energy sector and growing separatist sentiment in Quebec.

Manning also says there is increasing evidence that millennials are increasingly alienated from politics.
