Town council to vote on conversion therapy ban, VLTs
Tuesday’s town council meeting in Rocky Mountain House will bring up a pair of hot topic issues in the community being dealt with.
First off, council will discuss the creation of a new bylaw to ban conversion therapy in town, eliminating the harmful practice by no longer allowing a business to receive a license to perform the practice.
Residents have gone to social media to discuss how they feel about a ban, with one person stating, “This shouldn’t be going on anywhere! People who want to continue this practice are the ones who need therapy.”
Others believe the issue is not so pressing, or non-existent, with one Facebook commentor saying, “Fixing a problem that was never there, good on ya government.”
