Three Mile Bend – Temporary Park & Trail Closure for Maintenance

Aug 4, 2019 | 11:48 AM

The City of Red Deer will be closing the Three Mile Bend Recreation Area for maintenance from August 7-9, inclusively.

Parks and Public Works will be repaving sections of the access road, parking lot and trails as well as managing noxious weeds at the site. With heavy equipment working throughout the site, fresh oil and the use of pesticides, the park will be closed to all users to ensure public and pet safety.

Trail users will detour along 40th Avenue to allow for continued access to River Bend Recreation Area from the Northbank Trail. The Oxbows Off Leash Dog Park will remain open to allow for off leash activity during this closure. For more information about the Oxbows Off Leash Dog Park please visit: http://www.reddeer.ca/recreation-and-culture/outdoor-recreation/year-round-activities/off-leash-dogparks/ oxbows-off-leash-dog-park/.

Park users are reminded to obey all signs and refrain from crossing barricades, which are there for your safety and the safety of your pets. Your patience and cooperation is greatly appreciated.
