Ponoka RCMP charge man for fourth time since September
Ponoka RCMP have once again arrested a man on several warrants.
Caleb Joseph Shimwell, 20, was taken into custody on July 30, clearing up seven warrants for 21 criminal code charges out of Ponoka, one arrest warrant out of Wetaskiwin, and three from Lacombe.
“In this (most recent) case, Shimwell had a bail hearing and was not released from custody. We feel this is a positive thing,” says Corporal Laurel Scott, Alberta RCMP Media Relations. “He faces lots of charges about failing to attend, and failing to comply with conditions, so we’re pleased that he remains in custody.”
He is scheduled to appear via CCTV in Ponoka, Red Deer and Wetaskiwin courtrooms on August 2.
