Central Alberta’s windy Saturday

RED DEER- A strong low pressure system formed over a large area of central Alberta on Saturday afternoon.

An active cold front brought widespread severe thunderstorm warnings, and wind warnings.

Here are just a few of the wind gust speeds that were received by Environment and Climate Change Canada.

There have been no reports of major damage.

Hail was also reported in some areas.

Stettler reported nickel sized hail while areas further to the east, including Botha and Paradise Valley, were pelted by golf ball sized hail.
