Proactive Policing

Three facing drug charges after Innisfail arrests

Jul 24, 2019 | 4:10 PM

Proactive enforcement efforts by RCMP in Blackfalds and Innisfail have led to the arrest of three people over the past week.

On July 18, Innisfail and Blackfalds Mounties were monitoring what they describe as a problem area near Cannon Park in Innisfail, when a person believed to have arrest warrants was observed.

As a result, a traffic stop was conducted by Innisfail members and a woman arrested on outstanding warrants for trafficking in stolen property and use of a forged document from an incident in March, 2018 at Gasoline Alley.

Summer Kreiser, 36, of Red Deer County has been charged with possession of methamphetamine, along with two violations under the Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Act for possession of liquor and possession of cannabis, both within reach of the driver.

Kreiser was released by a Justice of the Peace to appear in Red Deer Provincial court on August 8th, 2019.

Meanwhile, police say a second woman with arrest warrants was also observed in the Cannon Park area and a traffic stop conducted and the driver arrested on her outstanding warrant.

RCMP say methamphetamine, illicit cannabis and evidence of drug trafficking were seized during the traffic stop.

Finally, in the early morning hours of July 19, a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Search Warrant was executed at an Innisfail residence on 50 Avenue near Cannon Park.

Mounties say methamphetamine, psilocybin (Magic Mushrooms), illicit cannabis, drug trafficking paraphernalia, hundreds of rounds of ammunition and a recently stolen Yamaha WR250 dirt bike were seized.

Kimberley Peterson, 44, of Innisfail, has been charged with possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of psilocybin, and possession of Illicit cannabis.

Peterson is scheduled to attend Red Deer Provincial Court September on September 26.

Alex Burns, 20, of Innisfail, has been charged with possession of stolen property, disobeying a court order by possessing ammunition and possession of methamphetamine.

Burns is scheduled to attend Red Deer Provincial Court on August 27.

Innisfail GIS in partnership with Innisfail detachment members say they will continue with enforcement and pro-active policing in Innisfail over the summer months.
