Ticket issued after motorcycle crashes in north Red Deer

One person was injured and later handed a ticket following a motorcycle crash in north Red Deer this past Friday.

It was around 10:20 p.m. when RCMP responded to Taylor Drive near Johnstone Drive where one of a number of motorcycles driving along the stretch – video shared with rdnewsNOW shows there may have been three or four – had crashed.

Staff Sargeant Jeff McBeth says there’s not enough evidence at this time to prove whether the motorcycles were street racing at the time or if speed was a factor in the crash.

“Based on the speed limit of that road, we shouldn’t be seeing a significant amount of collisions,” he noted. “It’s a double lane divided road and the speed limit is 60.”
