PPC leader Maxime Bernier coming to Red Deer this Thursday

People’s Party of Canada leader Maxime Bernier is coming to Red Deer.

Bernier will be at the Radisson Hotel for a 2:30 p.m. and later a Town Hall and Meet and Greet at the hotel from 7-10 p.m.

The Quebec MP formed the PPC after quitting the Conservative Party of Canada caucus last August. His surprising departure came following weeks of disputes with his colleagues over immigration and supply management, Canada’s price-support system for dairy and poultry farmers. Bernier narrowly lost to rival Andrew Scheer during the party’s last leadership contest.

Laura Lynn Tyler Thompson will be the PPC’s election candidate in Red Deer-Lacombe while Paul Mitchell will carry their banner in Red Deer-Mountain View.
