Suspects steal victim’s bike following hit and run: RCMP

Red Deer RCMP are looking for public assistance to identify suspects following a hit and run between a vehicle and a male on a bicycle.

On June 16, at approximately 3:00 a.m., Mounties responded to a report of a male with injuries at 5239 53 Avenue. Upon arrival, they found a 36-year old male who had been struck by a vehicle while riding a bicycle, and then subsequently beaten by two male suspects.

The victim was transported to Red Deer Regional Hospital with serious injuries.

Adding insult to injury, police say the male suspects placed the victim’s bicycle in the back of their vehicle before fleeing southbound on 53 Avenue then east on 52 Street toward Gaetz Avenue.

The suspect vehicle is described as:

• An SUV, possibly a GMC Jimmy

• Either red or maroon in colour

• Approximately 2005

• Unknown if 2 or 4 door

• Potential damage to front bumper

The suspects are described as:

Suspect #1:

• Late 20s

• Caucasian male

• Approximately 5’4 tall

• Curly brown hair

• Stubble on his face

• Glasses

• Slim build

Suspect # 2:

• Approximately 30 – 35 years old

• Approximately 6′ tall

• Short brown thinning hair

• Beard

• Large build, approximately 300lbs
