Hospice expansion set for completion this fall

Construction and fundraising for the expansion of the Red Deer Hospice has officially reached the halfway mark.

The hospice has raised $2.6 million of its $5.2 million goal with exterior finishing and interior work progressing on schedule.

Expansion includes six new beds, enhanced family lounges and quiet areas, as well as multipurpose rooms for community programming. It will serve an extra 100 residents each year.

“We are truly grateful to every person and business who chooses to support Red Deer Hospice and our expansion,” shared Val Hilario, Expansion Fundraising Coordinator. “The gifts we receive have a direct impact on residents, their loved ones and our community.”

Once work is complete this fall, the Red Deer Hospice will be the largest purpose-built hospice in western Canada.
