Edmonton psychic busted over $72,500 crystal scam

EDMONTON- Police allege there is nothing magic about a woman accused of bilking 10 people of money with a promise that a special crystal would improve their lives.

Investigators say complainants were defrauded of more than $72,500, with the highest individual loss totalling $20,250.

The woman advertised her services as a palm, tarot card and crystal ball reader with an ad that read “Need Help in Love. Do You Want Him Back.”

Police say the suspect worked as a psychic using the name “Sabrina Burt” or “Sable,” and operated under the business name “Sable Psychic Studio.”

Complainants say they were asked to pay a fee of thousands of dollars for a special crystal and procedure that would remove negative energy.

Complainants were told they would get a refund after the crystal procedure but never got their money back.

Cynthia Burt, 22, has been charged with 10 counts of fraud in Edmonton and faces similar charges in Ontario.
