Jun 5, 2019 | 7:22 AM

RED DEER- The Boys and Girls Club of Red Deer & District is hosting Adventure Playground as part of the annual Unplug to Connect event.

It is being held on Friday, June 7, at Aspen Heights School-5869 69 Street Drive.

Adventure Playground will be open from 1-3 p.m. for Aspen Heights students only, and will be open to the public from 3-5 p.m.

Unplug to Connect encourages all Canadians to spend more time with friends, family, and co-workers, and less time in front of their screens.

For one hour, people are being asked to unplug from their devices and spend time connecting with the people around them.

Boys and Girls Clubs believe that building relationships is an important life skill, and they strive to create a sense of community for all children and youth.

About Adventure Playground:

Unconstructed. Unstructured. Unlimited. Fun. Kids are free to explore, build, imagine and learn in their own way using a variety of unique materials like tires, cardboard, bicycle parts, plywood, fabric and more.
