Province launches “Yes to TMX” campaign in Ottawa

Alberta’s new energy minister travelled to Ottawa today to announce a new ad campaign in support of the Trans Mountain pipeline expansion.

Sonya Savage says the “Yes to TMX” campaign shows Alberta’s new United Conservative government is standing up for jobs and the energy industry.

““The Trans Mountain pipeline expansion has been mired in uncertainty for far too long, driving away investment, costing Canadians billions in tax revenues, and sacrificing thousands of jobs from coast to coast,” said Savage. “On June 18, Canada needs the Prime Minister and federal cabinet to say ‘yes’ to TMX.”

The province is paying $1.65 million dollars just to roll out the multimedia campaign in Ottawa with additional campaigns planned across Canada.

“Yes to TMX” will appear on digital display ads and posters at restaurants, bars and the Ottawa airport to urge the federal government to make a firm decision on the project that Alberta needs to get its oil to foreign markets.
