Airport food bank fundraiser soars

The numbers are in for Sunday’s 2nd Annual Props and Pistons Show and Shine at Red Deer Airport, and they’re really good.

Patrons enjoyed fantastic weather and supported a great cause as $6,200 Cash and 2610 pounds of food was raised in five hours for the Red Deer Food Bank.

That’s up over $2,000 from last year’s inaugural event.

Officials say 176 vehicles took part, up 56 from last year. There was also 50 aircraft, up 30 from last year, including a Canadian Forces Hawk Jet.
