Kindest Day

United Way invites residents to make May 15 kindest day of the year

May 15, 2019 | 1:40 PM

On May 15th, 2019, United Way Central Alberta encourages fellow community members to participate in United Way’s 2nd annual Conscious Kindness Day.

Make a commitment to be consciously kind and join in creating a community built on local love.

“Conscious Kindness Day is a simple way to show how easy it is to have a positive impact on a life. Small acts of kindness can change a life.” Says United Way Central Alberta’s CEO, Brett Speight.

“If we can bring focus to these small acts of kindness through Conscious Kindness Day and magnify those small acts by hundreds or thousands then imagine the impact all across Central Alberta.”

Compliment that extra-quiet co-worker. Cook for a new parent, have patience with someone who is unburdening their troubles. Seek out people who are isolated and see if they’re doing okay. Do someone a favour.

Sometimes, it’s enough to smile and say “Hello”. Muffins for the office works well too. Let’s help encourage everyone to do something nice for no reason at all.

In addition to the national hashtag #ConsciousKindness we ask you to share your joy on social media with our community centered hashtag #LocalLoveRD and #unignorable.

Post about kindness you’ve experienced or witnessed happening, it’s contagious!
