Innisfail man charged with manslaughter

An Innisfail man has been charged with manslaughter following the death of another Innisfail man Wednesday night.

RCMP say it happened around 10:30 p.m. when Mounties responded to an injured man on the sidewalk in the area of 51 Avenue and 49 Street in Innisfail.

Police say the man was transported by EMS to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

RCMP Major Crimes North took carriage of the investigation with an autopsy conducted Friday in Calgary.

Malcolm Nathaniel Bourgeois, 40, of Innisfail, is charged with manslaughter in the death of Winston “Drew” Grant, 27.

RCMP say Bourgeois has been remanded into custody and will be appearing in Red Deer Provincial Court on May 1.
