RIMBEY-ROCKY MOUNTAIN HOUSE-SUNDRE

Candidate Jeff Ible says NDP only party fighting for everyday Albertans

Apr 13, 2019 | 3:36 PM

Jeff Ible, the NDP’s candidate in the constituency of Rimbey-Rocky Mountain House-Sundre, says his goal, if elected, is to ensure rural communities are no longer overlooked.

A labour relations officer with the United Food and Commercial Workers, the Calgary resident says he is used to talking to a broad cross-section of the population.

“I know how to represent people, to fight for them and ensure they feel they have a voice on the issues that affect their everyday lives,” he tells rdnewsNOW.

“I have a real connection to this riding. While I live in Calgary, I visit this part of the province regularly to enjoy the wonderful landscape, hunt and fish in the bountiful natural resources that the riding boasts, and spend time in the community.”

Ible believes Jason Kenney and the UCP have deeply damaged their relationship with people in the riding of Rimbey-Rocky Mountain House-Sundre over the course of this election campaign.

“I want the people in this riding to know that they don’t have to hold their nose and vote for Jason Kenney and the UCP, and that there is a strong, practical, and forward-looking option that they can trust in this election,” he adds.

“People in this riding may not have considered voting for Rachel and the NDP in the past, but I’ve heard over and over again how uncomfortable many voters are with Jason Kenney’s top-down leadership.”

Ible says the NDP platform is aimed at growing the economy, and creating good jobs while protecting healthcare and education.
