WATCH: Red Deer election candidates make their pitch at Chamber forum

A number of high priority issues were discussed at a candidates forum hosted Thursday night by the Red Deer and District Chamber of Commerce.

All candidates running in the Red Deer-North and Red Deer-South ridings were invited to take part in the forum at the Westerner Park Harvest Centre. Those who did included:

Red Deer-North: Matt Chapin (Freedom Conservative Party), Dr. Paul Hardy (Alberta Party), Adriana LaGrange (United Conservative Party) and Kim Schreiner (New Democrat Party)

Red Deer-South: Teah-Jay Cartwright (FCP), Lori Curran (Green Party), Ryan McDougall (Alberta), Barb Miller (NDP) and Jason Stephan (UCP).

After each candidate was given four minutes for opening remarks they took turns answering a list of submitted questions on topics including minimum wage, carbon tax, economic diversification, hospital expansion and equitable municipal funding.

The forum was moderated by Ken Kolby, President and CEO of the Alberta Chambers of Commerce.
