Advance polls open starting Tuesday

Apr 8, 2019 | 4:26 PM

Tuesday is the first day of advance voting for the April 16 provincial election.

New this year is the ability for Albertans to cast their advance vote at any polling station across the province. It is recommended that voters bring along the “Where to vote” card they received in the mail to whichever polling station they attend.

On Election Day (April 16) voters will still be required to vote at their assigned polling station.

In 2015, 15 per cent of those who voted in the provincial election did so at advance polls. It is estimated as many as 30 per cent will do so this time around.

The Advance Poll Days are:

Tuesday, April 9

Wednesday, April 10

Thursday, April 11

Friday, April 12

Saturday, April 13

To be eligible to vote, you must be:

– a Canadian citizen

– at least 18 years of age on Election Day

– ordinarily resident in Alberta
