Southern Alberta Crime Reduction Team makes several arrests in Olds area
RCMP are encouraging the public to continue calling in tips of suspicious vehicles and activities in their community.
This after the Southern Alberta Crime Reduction Team (SACRT) used public tips and analysis of crime data and calls for service to target an identified ‘crime hot spot’ in the Olds, Sundre and Didsbury areas over the past month to make several arrests.
Mounties say several thefts and property offences in the rural area identified a trend which SACRT set out to change, with known offenders also identified for enforcement action.
On February 27, police say evidence was gathered indicating a woman was in possession of a vehicle stolen from a farm near Didsbury. It was determined the suspect and the stolen vehicle were in Calgary, so Calgary Police were notified and the suspect arrested and charged with possession of a stolen vehicle. Charged is Amber Rose Johnson, 23, of Sundre.
