Province invests in employment supports in Rocky Mountain House
The province is investing 15 million dollars overall in Alberta workforce, including a $607,000 investment in the Rocky Mountain House area.
JobLinks will be introduced to Rocky Mountain House, Drayton Valley, Rimbey, Camrose, Wetaskiwin, and Ponoka. The program is provided by the Career Assistance Network, and will reach 150 locals with services like short-term skills training and job placement.
“As our economy continues to show signs of a strong recovery, our government is committed to ensuring all Albertans are able to benefit,” Labour Minister Christina Gray said in a release. “Investing in skills training provides more Albertans with the skills employers are looking for and supports them to be successful in the labour market. This is how we will work together to make sure Alberta has an economic recovery built to last.”
The funding announcement comes during Alberta Career Week, which runs from April 23rd to 27th.
