City to discuss bike registry next year

City council is tabling the idea of a city-wide bike registry for the time being.

Councillor Buck Buchanan presented the idea last month through a notice of motion.

Buchanan is proposing The City launch a bike registry with affordable fees for individuals and families in an effort to fight the ongoing battle against bike thieves.

The City’s current Annual Policing Plan is proposing a voluntary bike registry for essentially the same purpose, and to help people get their bikes back more easily if they’ve been taken.
