TRUDEAU HEADED TO LATVIA
Justin Trudeau is headed to Latvia today to highlight Canada’s military commitments to NATO ahead of the treaty organization’s summit this week in Brussels. It’s the first ever bilateral visit by a Canadian prime minister to the Baltic nation, and it comes as the country celebrates its centenary. Trudeau will visit the 450 Canadian military personnel that are part of a NATO battle group in Latvia that was established in response to Russia’s annexation of Crimea in 2014 and its invasion of eastern Ukraine.
