Former Alberta Party candidate Troy Millington sentenced on child porn charges

CALGARY- A man who once sought the leadership of the Alberta Party has been sentenced to four-and-a-half years in prison for child pornography.

Troy Millington was convicted by a jury earlier this year of three child porn offences.

The court heard that in 2016, police found thousands of pornographic images and videos on Milligton’s computer that had been amassed over a 10-year period.

The 48-year-old accused ran unsuccessfully for the Alberta Party leadership in 2013 and he represented the party as a candidate in the Calgary-West byelection the following year but lost.
