Red Deer athletes bring home 11 medals from 2018 Special Olympics Canada Summer Games

It was a strong showing for Red Deer athletes at the 2018 Special Olympics Canada Summer Games in Antigonish, Nova Scotia last week.
Four athletes from Red Deer competed as part of Team Alberta and brought home 11 medals in the process.
Swimmer Hidde Geurts earned four medals, including a gold in the 200m backstroke, silver in 400m freestyle, silver in 100m breaststroke and bronze in 200m freestyle.
Fellow swimmer Elliott Moskowy earned three medals, including a silver medal in the 50m backstroke, a bronze in 50m backstroke and bronze in 100m freestyle.
