The Red Deer Public Library is hosting the ‘Read for 15 Literacy Challenge on Jan. 25 at Red Deer Public Library.
The program encourages people to read, but is a great way to create awareness for Family Literacy Day, which is Sunday, January 27.
The challenge is promoted at participating libraries in Canada, where people are asked to read anything for 15 minutes, and then report it via social media, in person, by phone or library website.
Numbers are tallied per capita and the library with the most readers receives recognition and a trophy.
