Hunting Hills locked down, evacuated following online threat
Hunting Hills High School was locked down and evacuated Tuesday night after police say a “veiled online threat” was made toward the school on social media.
The series of events came as approximately 500 students were at the school for the annual Hunting Hills Bike-A-Thon fundraiser for mental health initiatives. The overnight event was cancelled as a result of the threat.
RCMP have not confirmed who posted the threat or what it said. However, there were several Instagram posts that may have been related.
Two of them from the same user (jerald_hicks) read, “I’m gonna shoot up ur bike athon,” and, “imm shoot up the bike athon.”
