Charges have been laid in relations to a fire that forced the evacuation of an apartment complex in Ponoka earlier this month.
On May 1, Ponoka RCMP and fire fighters responded to a fire at the Rex Manor apartments. Several residents were temporarily evacuated from the building and the fire was extinguished without anyone being injured.
Denis Fortin, 39, has been charged with arson and mischief.
He remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in Wetaskiwin Provincial Court on May 23.
