Charges laid in crash near Alix

A 38-year-old woman has been charged following a collision east of Red Deer this past weekend.

It was at about 11:20 a.m. on Sunday when Bashaw RCMP, Alix Fire Department and EMS from Stettler and Lacombe responded to the two- vehicle collision at the intersection of Highways 601 and 12 near the Village of Alix.

According to police, a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze was traveling Westbound on Highway 12 when a 2015 Dodge 1500 pick-up truck was traveling Southbound on Highway 601.

As a result of an investigation, it was determined that the female driver of the Dodge came to a stop at the stop sign, however, proceeded in an unsafe manner which caused the collision. She has been charged with proceeding unsafely.
