Discovery Canyon finally re-opening this Saturday
Discovery Canyon is finally re-opening to the public this Saturday.
The adventure park was originally scheduled to re-open last weekend after upgrades and enhancements closed the site for the entire 2016 season.
“The new and improved site has a brand new stream bed for the lazy river, an enhanced beach area, upgraded pumps and improved site trails and accessibility,” says Curtis Martinek, Project Superintendent. “We know that Discovery Canyon is a family favorite attraction, and the re-opening is a sure sign that summer has arrived.”
Admission to Discovery Canyon is free and float tubes can be rented for $5 or purchased for $20. Visitors can also bring their own float tube.
An official grand opening and Canada 150 celebration is scheduled for July 21 beginning at 11 a.m.
Discovery Canyon is located in the River Bend Golf and Recreation Area off 30 Avenue, just north of 67 Street. It will operate from June until the September long weekend, every day from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m (weather permitting).
