Special Olympics Torch Run goes Sunday

RED DEER- On June 25 the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Alberta will be bringing awareness and raising funds for the 2017 Special Olympics Alberta Summer Games with a Final Leg Torch Run in Red Deer.

The tradition of the Final Leg Torch Run is for law enforcement officers representing their community to act as Guardians of the Flame and carry the Special Olympics Torch and “Flame of Hope” to officially start the 2017 Special Olympics Alberta Summer Games in Medicine Hat.

The torch run kicked off at the legislature on May 16.

Law enforcement members will run a loop starting and ending at the Collicutt Centre and will be carrying the Special Olympics Flame of Hope Torch.
