This weekend, the Central Alberta Chamber Orchestra will feature Ian Warwick in its upcoming concert, The Joy of Circuses & Feats of Darling Do.

Those hoping to attend will have two opportunities to do so: on Friday, September 25 at 7 p.m. at Gaetz Memorial United Church, followed by Saturday, September 26 at 2 p.m. at St. Andrew’s United Church in Lacombe.

Tickets are $30 per person followed by $20 for seniors, $10 for students, and free for children 12 and under. Tickets are available through Showpass or at the door.

Warwick is the face of Sunnybrook Farm, but he is also an accomplished professional musician. He earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music and has performed with world-class bands and orchestras across Canada.

He plays multiple instruments but performs primarily on saxophone and vocals, while also playing clarinet and flute.

During the concert, Warwick will perform Paule Maurice’s Tableaux de Provence, a colourful, challenging work that showcases the saxophone’s expressive possibilities alongside a full orchestra.

“Music has always been a really important part of my life,” Warwick said in a media release. “I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to perform with so many wonderful musicians over the years. Being able to make music with the Central Alberta Chamber Orchestra and share this beautiful piece with our local audience is something I’m really looking forward to.”

“Ian represents the incredible depth of musical talent we have right here in Central Alberta,” says CACO Music Director Dr. James Bicigo. “He is an exceptional musician and a wonderful contributor to our community. We are delighted to feature him in this concert.”

The Central Alberta Chamber Orchestra’s September concert, they said, celebrates the excitement, colour and spectacle associated with the circus and feats of daring.
