Red Deer Hospital Lottery opens dream home

Apr 10, 2026 | 2:25 PM

The Red Deer Hospital Lottery is back for its 28th year with another beautiful dream home up for grabs.

This year’s dream home, built by Sorento Custom Homes, is valued at nearly $1.2 million and located in the Evergreen neighbourhood of northeast Red Deer.

Chief Executive Officer of the Red Deer Regional Health Foundation, Manon Therriault, said this year’s ticket purchases will go towards critically needed equipment for Red Deer Regional Hospital staff to care for patients across central Alberta.

“If you’ve been to the hospital lately, there’s lots of action, which is something we are in dire need of. The reality is, healthcare needs don’t stop, and it’s easy to look at the big project and how exciting that is in the next few years. The hospital lottery, year over year, continues to support today’s needs,” she said.

“The hospital shares information with the foundation on what’s the newest innovation, what’s broken, and what needs to be replaced. We all know government funding doesn’t support all of those things, and so that’s what the hospital lottery is supporting: being able to cover the things that need to be replaced today.”

This year’s home is located at 44 Everson Close and features 2,915 sq. ft., three bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms, and a triple-car garage.

There is also an open sun deck, a wide front porch, an oversized kitchen with a walk-through pantry, a large office, and a master bedroom with an ensuite that features a bathtub and a walk-in shower.

In the basement, there’s a wet bar, two bedrooms, a family room, and a flexible room that could be used for fitness or maybe even a game room.

Residents are welcome to view the home from April 11 to June 28 on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Tickets can be bought online at Reddeerhospitallottery.ca for the main draw, Mega Bucks 50, and the Cash Garden. The deadline to purchase tickets is June 29.

In the main draw for the home, tickets can be purchased individually for $30 each or 5 for $100, 10 for $150, and 30 for $300.

Meantime, the Mega Bucks 50 jackpot is currently at over $387,000, and those interested can purchase a ticket for $10 or in packs of 10 for $25, 25 for $50, 50 for $75, and 100 for $100. It’s a 50/50 draw with the lucky winner taking home a cash prize.

The tickets for the Cash Garden are nearly sold out. At the time of publishing, only single tickets for $10 each were remaining. It’s an incremental lottery where, over 10 days, someone can win multiple cash prizes up to $10,000.

“The Cash Garden is an additional lottery that we’ve added, so we were curious to see how that one was going to go, and we are quite convinced we are going to sell out of that one specifically today,” Therriault added.

“Looking at sales for the house and for Mega Bucks 50, it’s going really well, so I wouldn’t delay if people are looking to buy tickets for all of the lotteries.”

Therriault said another home has been secured down the street for 2027.

“When people buy a ticket, they’re not just entering to win something extraordinary; they’re investing in care. They’re supporting the physicians, nurses, and the teams who show up every single day,” she said. “They’re helping bring in the equipment that changes outcomes, shortens wait times, and improves diagnosis, supporting better care close to home.”

Since the lottery’s inception 28 years ago, the lottery has raised over $13 million for the hospital. In addition, in just the past two years, they’ve also secured over $70 million in operational funding from the provincial government.
