RCMP investigating shooting incident in north Red Deer

Red Deer RCMP are investigating a shooting that happened in north Red Deer on Wednesday night.

Mounties say they received a 911 call at 8:59 p.m. on April 8 for a report of gunshots in a hotel.

After arriving on the scene within minutes, police found a man with a gunshot wound who was then transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

As a result, another man was arrested and remains in custody. Police remain on the scene as the incident is under investigation.

Police believe it was a targeted attack, and there is no risk to the public.

The RCMP are asking for anyone who witnessed the incident or has video footage of the event to come forward to the police.
