The British Columbia Hockey League announced Blackfalds Bulldogs head coach Ryan Tobler has been named a finalist for the Joe Tennant Memorial Trophy for Coach of the Year.

He was nominated alongside West Kelowna Warriors head coach Simon Ferguson and Cowichan Valley Capitals head coach Cam Keith.

Tobler is in his first full season as head coach of the Bulldogs, where he helped them return to the playoffs after missing the postseason in the 2024-25 campaign.

This year, they finished second in their division and fourth overall in the league standings with a 37-15-2-0 record. This comes a year after they finished second last in the BCHL.
