Shred Day 2026 a successful one for Red Deer RCMP

Red Deer RCMP’s latest Shred Day event was a success, as per usual.

The event took place March 26, and saw folks come out to have their documents shredded by Merlin, and in collaboration with the City of Red Deer.

This event resulted in 7,500 pounds of confidential documents being shredded and a total of $1,068.50 donated to Ronald McDonald House Alberta.

As Fraud Prevention Month has now wrapped up, the Red Deer RCMP would like to remind the public to remain vigilant.

“As more of our daily activities take place online and over the phone, fraudsters are finding new ways to scam unsuspecting victims through digital communication,” they say in a release.
