Lacombe’s Daxon Rudolph has been named to the Western Hockey League’s first all-star team for the 2025-26 season.

The Prince Albert Raiders defenceman was one of six players named from the Eastern Conference. In total, 12 players were listed on the first all-star team and 12 on the second team, as voted by WHL general managers.

The 18-year-old recorded impressive numbers, including 28 goals, 78 points, and a plus-32 rating for the Raiders.

He helped lead the Raiders to first in the Eastern Conference with a 52-10-5-1 record to end the regular season.

He also finished third in scoring among all WHL defencemen and tied a Raiders franchise record for goals by a defenceman. He matched the record set by Josh Morrissey in the 2013-14 campaign.

This summer, Rudolph is projected to be selected in the first round of the 2026 NHL Draft. NHL Central Scouting ranked Rudolph sixth among North American skaters in its midterm rankings.

This season, he represented Team CHL at the CHL USA Prospects Challenge and served as captain of Team East at the 2026 WHL Prospects Game.

Since he was selected first overall by the Raiders in the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft, Rudolph has played 132 career WHL regular-season games and has notched 119 points.

Currently, the Raiders lead the Red Deer Rebels 2-0 in the best-of-seven playoff series in the Eastern Conference quarterfinals.

Games 3 and 4 will be played in the Centrium on Tuesday, March 31 and Wednesday, April 1. Puck drop is at 7 p.m.
