The Red Deer Rebels have plenty of work ahead of them after falling 6-0 to the Prince Albert Raiders in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals.

The Raiders now lead the Rebels two games to none in the best-of-seven series following an explosive second period that saw Prince Albert notch five unanswered goals.

Prince Albert dominated Red Deer in multiple facets of the game on Saturday night in front of a sold-out crowd, outshooting them 40-13 at the Art Hauser Centre.

The Raiders notched three power play goals; meantime, the Rebels failed to score on three opportunities. Rebels netminder Matthew Kondro was pulled in the third period after making 30 saves on 36 shots. Shore entered the game in relief and made four saves.

Following the opening 20 minutes, both teams were held scoreless until the games first goal came 1:37 into the second period off the stick of forward Brock Cripps.

Then exactly two minutes later, forward Ben Harvey extended the Raiders lead with a wrist shot from the slot.

Things went from bad to worse for the Rebels after Raiders defenceman Daxon Rudolph sniped a shorthanded goal near the midway point of the period.

Prince Albert added two more power play goals from Riley Boychuk and Brayden Dube to lead 5-0 heading into the second intermission.

In the third period, Dube added one more for good measure to seal the deal with a commanding lead.

Next up, the series will shift back to Red Deer where the Rebels will look to get back into the series in front of the home crowd.

Game 3 is set for Tuesday followed by Game 4 on Wednesday at the Centrium. Puck drop for both games is at 7 p.m.
