Rebels to pick 17th in 2026 WHL Prospects Draft
Mar 27, 2026 | 4:34 PM
The Red Deer Rebels officially have the 17th overall pick in this year’s WHL Prospects Draft, which takes place May 6.
The 17th pick originally belonged to Kelowna, and Red Deer received it from Moose Jaw in the recent trade for goaltender Chase Wutzke.
And speaking of the Rockets, they will select first overall, following the results of the WHL Draft Lottery.
Red Deer would’ve had the 8th pick as well, but they traded it to Kamloops as part of the deal that sent Mats Lindgren to the Blazers. The pick was originally for 2025, but became a 2026 pick because Red Deer was part of the 2025 draft lottery.
