Podcast: Panelists speak on upcoming World Religions Conference at RDP

The 19th annual World Religions Conference is set for Wednesday, March 25 at Red Deer Polytechnic.

It runs from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on the mainstage in the RDP Arts Centre.

On the March 20, 2026 edition of The Everything Red Deer Podcast, hear conversations led by host Josh Hall, with conference co-moderator Dr. Daniel Haas, professor of philosophy at RDP; and with panelist Imam Atta-ul Wahab, who leads the Baitun Nur Mosque in Calgary.

The theme of this year’s conference is ‘Building a caring society: perspectives on love, empathy & community.’

Also co-moderating will be Dr. Carrie Dennett. As well, the panel will feature Dr. Anomi Bearden who’ll share the secular perspective, Reverend Julie Cavanaugh representing Christianity, and Ms. Lindsay Hawrylak sharing the Indigenous point of view. Imam Wahab will be speaking on Islam.

The event is free, but they are collecting donations of non-perishable food items for the RDP Students Association Food Bank.
