A Red Deer resident has been named a finalist in the 2026 Women Changing the World Awards.

Dr. Tristina Anderson will head to Paris, France, in April for the international awards ceremony that, according to a media release, recognizes women making a significant impact through leadership, innovation, advocacy, and global influence.

Anderson is an award-winning author, speaker, and transformational leadership expert. She is the author of the memoir Resilience: Picking Up My Shattered Pieces, which covers her journey of overcoming adversity, rebuilding from life’s most difficult chapters, and choosing to live with truth, courage, and intention.

Dr. Anderson also founded Fearless Living, a transformational framework and movement designed to help individuals move beyond fear, reclaim their voice, and live and lead with greater authenticity, courage, and purpose.

“Fearless living is not about never feeling afraid,” said Dr. Anderson. “It is about choosing courage anyway. My work is rooted in helping people understand that regret is heavier than fear — and that when we choose courage, we can change the trajectory of our lives.”

In addition, her story and the Fearless Living movement are also now the subject of a documentary currently in development, which will explore her life journey, the power of resilience, and the global relevance of living authentically in the face of fear.

“As someone who has walked through profound adversity and rebuilt from it, this recognition is about more than an award,” she said. “It is about the message that no matter where you begin, your story can become a source of strength, service, and impact.”
