AFSC celebrates women in Alberta agriculture

Mar 10, 2026 | 4:51 PM

The Agriculture Financial Services Corporation (AFSC) recently celebrated the winners of its 2026 Women in Ag Awards.

The AFSC notes recipients are translating expertise into real-world results, developing the next gen of ag leaderships, and building networks while bolstering rural communities.

This past Sunday was International Women’s Day, hence the timing.

“At AFSC, we know that agriculture is more than just an industry, it’s a community, a legacy, and a way of life. For close to 90 years, we’ve stood alongside Alberta’s producers — helping farm businesses navigate challenges and opportunities while building for the future,” explained Shelley Vandenberg, AFSC board member

“That’s why we’re proud to present The Notables and to champion initiatives like the Women in Ag Awards, which recognizes the leadership, innovation, and impact across our industry.  We’re proud to celebrate the women who are driving the future forward.”
