Red Deer building permit values decline in February

Officials with the City of Red Deer say building permit values totalled $2.7 million in February 2026, a decrease from $4.5 million in February 2025.

The city adds that year-to-date permit values remain lower in 2026, with current values at $14.2 million, compared with $21.7 million at this time last year.

Notable permits include:

• Building permit for construction of a new single family detached dwelling at 34 Eaton Crescent, valued at $198,000
• Building permit for construction of a new single family detached dwelling at 160 Ellington Crescent, valued at $178,000
• Building permit for interior renovations to existing structure at 100-31 Clearview Market Way, valued at $175,000
• Building permit for construction for a new single family detached dwelling with front attached garage and rear deck at 213 Turnbull Close, valued at $162,000
• Building permit for construction of a new single family detached dwelling with front attached garage and rear deck at 217 Turnbull Close, valued at $145,000
