The Red Deer Home Show returns for a 47th year this weekend.

From March 6-8, the expo takes over a large chunk of Westerner Park, with more than 220 Canadian businesses and 430 booths across four pavilions.

New attractions and demos will headline the show, including the returning Construction Competition, which hasn’t been seen at the show for more than 20 years.

Three teams of industry pros and students will each build an 8’x8′ playhouse live on the show floor. The playhouses will be auctioned off through a silent auction during and after the show, with proceeds going to local charities.

Visitors can also experience live timber-framing demonstrations, a modular home display, and even a chance to try pickleball on an indoor court, showcasing the growing popularity of the sport in communities across central Alberta.

The show will once again feature family-friendly entertainment including the Western Canadian Belt Sander Races, a free kids zone, and a wide selection of food options, making it a great outing for the entire family.

“The Red Deer Home Show has always been about connecting our community with the people and businesses that build and improve our homes,” said Chris Windrim, executive director of BILD Central Alberta. “This year we’re excited to bring new demonstrations, competitions, and experiences to the show floor while continuing to celebrate the incredible talent within our local building industry.”

Tickets are $15, and can be purchased at the door, or at redderhomeshow.ca.
