Red Deer woman accused of misappropriating tens of thousands from former employer

Charges have been laid against a Red Deer woman accused of stealing tens of thousands of dollars from her former employer. 

Yvonne Alton, 61, was charged by Blackfalds RCMP on Feb. 18, 2026, with one count of forge a document, and one count of fraud over $5000. 

An official with Pro Energy Inc., in Red Deer County, confirms Alton worked as a controller there when the alleged crimes took place between March 1, 2021 and June 30, 2025, when she was terminated. 

RCMP began their investigation in August 2025 and allege that over $45,000 was misappropriated. 

Alton’s matter will be in Red Deer Court of Justice on April 17, 2026.
