The City of Red Deer is inviting non-profit groups to apply for funding through the City of Red Deer’s Community Recreation Enhancement Grant.

The funding provided is meant to enhance the delivery of community recreation programs, services and events in Red Deer.

Applications can only be made online via a portal available at reddeer.ca/RecreationGrants.

Groups hoping for more information can join a virtual information session put on by the city on Tuesday, March 10, at 7 p.m. To join, an RSVP is required.

The city says applications are accepted twice per year in April and October. The deadline for the upcoming spring intake is on Thursday, April 2, at 4 p.m.

“Each year, the City of Red Deer awards almost $100,000 to community sport and recreation groups in order to support and enhance their ability to deliver recreation services and programs to Red Deerians,” the city stated in a media release. “The City of Red Deer is proud to offer supportive grant opportunities to assist our local sport and recreation organizations.”
