Snowfall and blowing snow

Special weather statement issued for central Alberta

Feb 15, 2026 | 5:11 PM

Just when we thought the end of winter was near, Mother Nature is set to deliver a powerful punch this week.

Environment and Climate Change Canada reported that snow is expected to fall beginning on Monday and continue through Tuesday in much of Alberta, including the central Alberta region.

Approximately 10 to 20 centimetres are expected by Wednesday, but levels of snow will vary from place to place. Amounts up to 30 centimetres are possible.

Officials add that blowing snow is also expected on Tuesday in central and southern Alberta in open areas.

Visibility will likely be poor, and ECCC say motorists should allow extra time for travel
