Cheerleading competition takes over Westerner Park this weekend

An exciting cheerleading competition will take place this Saturday at Red Deer’s Westerner Park.

Put on by Double Up Cheer Productions, the competition will showcase the talent of more than 110 teams from across Alberta.

Competitors will range from five-year-olds to seasoned veterans, according to organizers.

“We are excited to bring together cheerleading teams from throughout Alberta for a day filled with incredible performances and spirited competition. The Westerner Parkland Pavilion will be buzzing with energy as teams of all ages and levels showcase their talent and commitment to the sport,” said Riana Luck, owner, Double Up Cheer Productions.

The public is welcome to attend, and can expect a day of high-flying stunts, dynamic routines, and a celebration of the cheerleading community.

The event runs from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. inside the Parkland Pavilion. Tickets will be available at the door for $20, with children three and under free.
