Jan 29, 2026 | 5:41 PM

PBR Canada is launching its new season in Red Deer this week, for the fifth straight year.

Jan. 31 from the Centrium, catch riders starting their 2026 campaign to contend for the PBR Canada Championship and a $100,000 bonus.

Per PBR:

“Two-time PBR Canada Champion Dakota Buttar will return to Red Deer eager to defend his dominant event win from 2025 and gain an early lead as he chases his record-tying third PBR Canada Championship. Buttar will be joined by fellow two-time PBR Canada Champion Cody Coverchuk, chasing similar history, and three-time title holder Aaron Roy who is on the hunt for his unprecedented fourth championship.

“Red Deer will also have two hometown hopefuls to follow as the brotherly duo of Ashton and Carter Sahli will take to the dirt inside Marchant Crane Centrium.

“For Ashton, he will look to continue his career season from last year which featured him qualifying for his first-ever PBR World Finals. One title, however, continues to elude him, that of PBR Canada Champion.

“Prior to this weekend’s PBR Red Deer Classic, would you be interested in previewing the event? PBR riders, including Sahli, operational personnel, stock contractors, etc. are available for remote interviews as soon as today, and in the greater Red Deer area on Friday, January 30.”

Tickets for the event are on sale, and start at $25, plus fees, and can be purchased at the Tickets Alberta Box Office located in the Marchant Crane Centrium foyer, online at TicketsAlberta.ca, or charge by phone at (866) 340-4450.
